Management Team
Gerald F. DeNotto – President
Mr. DeNotto began working in the power industry in 1985 and joined Indeck Energy in 1991 as General Counsel. He later became Senior Vice President and then President in 2006. He’s served as a director on numerous private and public boards in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom in the fields of oil and gas exploration, engine technology, software and electronics and ethanol. Prior to joining the company, Mr. DeNotto worked for Commonwealth Edison Company.
Lawrence A. Lagowski – Senior Vice President and CFO
Mr. Lagowski has more than 20 years of experience in the energy business. He’s responsible for all financial aspects of Indeck Energy, including financial reporting, corporate and project finance, treasury, tax, and various corporate administrative areas for Indeck’s group of companies. He serves on several boards of directors, including Indeck Energy, and those of several ethanol companies and a bank. Prior to joining Indeck, Mr. Lagowski worked for a national CPA firm.
Michael D. Ferguson – Vice President of Asset Management
Mr. Ferguson oversees asset management for Indeck's existing projects. His 20 years of diverse energy industry experience includes large industrial energy management, solid waste combustion and 13 years in the power industry with Indeck. His ongoing responsibilities involve fuel supply, risk management, contract administration and corporate regulatory compliance. Mr. Ferguson has a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois in Chicago.
John E. Hare – Vice President of Operations
Mr. Hare has more than 30 years of experience in managing the construction and operations of plants in the power and chemical industries. For the past 17 years, he’s had an active role in the successful construction and operation of many Indeck projects, including on-site roles at various Indeck plants in the United States. He previously served as Plant Manager for the Corinth, Olean and Silver Springs Indeck plants. Mr. Hare has a BS in Chemical Engineering from SUNY at Buffalo and an MBA from St. Bonaventure University.
Joseph M. Oskorep – Vice President and Controller
Mr. Oskorep is responsible for all accounting, tax and financial compliance for the company and its subsidiaries. He has more than 16 years of experience in the energy industry, specializing in domestic and international tax structures. Prior to joining the company, he was an Audit Manager at BDO Seidman. Mr. Oskorep holds a BA degree, magna cum laude, from Lewis University. He is a CPA and has received the prestigious Elijah Watts Sells Award from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Richard S. Robinson – Vice President Business Development
Mr. Robinson is responsible for all of Indeck’s business development activities, from initial project identification to financial close. He has 30 years of experience in the power industry. Prior to joining Indeck Energy, he was the general manager for a large consulting engineering firm specializing in the utility and industrial markets. Mr. Robinson graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology with a BSME, is a Registered Professional Engineer in Illinois and has an MBA from Keller School of Management.
William R. Garth – Director of Economics
Mr. Garth has more than 13 years of experience in the energy industry. He oversees Indeck’s financial analysis, modeling, and budgeting efforts, and he has a successful track record in all aspects of energy project development, including business development, project finance, acquisitions, contract restructuring and asset management. Prior to joining Indeck, he was employed as a mechanical design engineer for the Superconducting Super Collider and as an industrial engineer for General Dynamics. Mr. Garth holds an MBA from the University of Dallas and a BSIE from Purdue University.
Cathleen E. Mitchell – Human Resources Director
Ms. Mitchell joined Indeck Energy in 1994 and has more than 16 years experience in the area of human resources in both manufacturing and service environments. She is responsible for all the human resource/payroll related activities for the Indeck Group of Companies. Prior to joining Indeck Energy, Ms. Mitchell worked for Mercer Human Resource Consulting, LLC. She holds a BA degree in Human Resources Management from Roosevelt University, as well as having her SPHR and CEBS certifications.
Christopher M. DePodesta – Manager of Business Development
Mr. DePodesta is responsible for the development of projects in the biofuel, conventional fuel and power sectors. He has more than 17 years of experience in the conventional and renewable power and refinery fuels, pulp & paper, hazardous waste and consumer products industries. Prior to joining Indeck Energy, he worked as a consultant/project engineer for the utility and industrial markets for CE/ABB, Duke Energy, and Ambitech Engineering Corporation. Mr. DePodesta graduated from Michigan Technological University with a BSME and is a Registered Professional Engineer in California and Illinois.
Richard Jarboe – Manager of Business Development
Mr. Jarboe is responsible for the development of projects in the biofuel and conventional fuel sectors. He has more than 35 years of experience in the manufacturing and renewable power industries. Prior to joining Indeck Energy, Mr. Jarboe developed Gateway Ethanol LLC, worked as Vice President and division General Manager for Sauer Danfoss, and held positions as Manager of Engineering and Director of Global Sales with Cessna Inc. He holds a BS degree in Technical Management and Business and has an Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Rex A. Roehl – Manager of Business Development
Mr. Roehl has more than 35 years of experience in the energy industry. He’s responsible for analyzing business opportunities and managing projects of all types for Indeck. Prior to joining the company in 2005, he was employed with Edison Mission Energy for six years and with Commonwealth Edison, where he served in a variety of positions for 28 years. He is on the boards of directors of Little Sioux Corn Processors, LLC and Akron Riverview Corn Processors, LLC. Mr. Roehl has a JD from IIT Chicago Kent College of Law and a BSME from Illinois Institute of Technology.
James S. Schneider – Manager of Environmental Affairs
Mr. Schneider has more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry, both in operations and engineering. He is responsible for all environmental activities at Indeck, including operating plants and project development. Prior to joining Indeck, Mr. Schneider worked as a consulting engineer and in engineering and management with energy production companies. Mr. Schneider graduated from Michigan Technological University and is a Registered Professional Engineer.
