Dedicated

For more than 25 years, Indeck Energy has demonstrated the imagination, know-how and determination it takes to succeed in this ever-changing industry. We're dedicated to providing communities with reliable power using environmentally sound approaches.

Proven

Since 1985, Indeck Energy has developed, financed, managed the construction, owned and operated numerous power generation facilities across the United States and abroad. We continue to own and operate a large majority of these plants. We have a proven track record when it comes to creating and sustaining new power generation projects, and over the years we've enjoyed long-term partnerships with several Fortune 100 companies and some of the largest financial institutions in the world.

Diverse

Our experience spans a wide range of technologies and geographical settings. Here are just a few examples:

  • Our 300 MW gas-fired peaker in northern Illinois holds the unofficial record for the shortest construction time frame, from start of construction to commercial operation in less than 6 months.
  • We successfully recommissioned and operated three biomass facilities totaling 65 MW in New England.
  • Our 400 MW single-shaft turbine combined cycle plant in Enfield, England was one of the first successful merchant plants financed in the United Kingdom.
  • We developed, constructed and operated a 40 MW inside-the-fence reciprocating engine facility for a steel mill in Guatemala.

Committed

Responding to our country's call for reliable power supply solutions, we are actively developing natural gas fueled power generation projects in strategic areas across the United States.

Project Vision and Development

We analyze market demand and use our experience and insight to identify strategic energy development opportunities.

Permitting, Environmental and Regulatory Approvals

We obtain all necessary permits and government approvals, including air impact analysis, air permit application and submittal, and water/wastewater analysis and permitting.

Deal Structure and Finance

We've closed numerous financings for energy plants in the United States and abroad totaling more than $1 billion. Our structures include everything from straight corporate finance to multi-tiered, non-recourse debt with tax-advantaged equity structures and multiple currencies.

Infrastructure

We develop the necessary infrastructure required for energy facilities including rail, water, wastewater, fuel supply, roadways and electrical interconnection.

Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management

We coordinate all engineering, procurement, and construction management activities through a single point of contact, from contract negotiation through facility commissioning and start-up.

Asset Management

Our team of asset management professionals manages our facilities, from fuel and feedstock procurement through delivery of the final energy product.

Operations

We operate all of our facilities through our affiliate Indeck Operations, Inc. Our operating availability consistently exceeds industry averages, and our performance is second-to-none.

Community Relations

We work hard to be good neighbors and good stewards of the environment. Community support for our projects is earned through open communication and information exchange in public forums. We work closely with local government officials, citizens and other community stakeholders to explain the nature of our projects, demonstrate benefits to the community and address any concerns.
